This book is a journal of Roald Dahl during World War 2. He was 22 when he left on a ship from England going to Africa. First, he was sent to a pilot training center, and then he was assigned to Squadron 80. At one point, his plane crashed, and he got a head injury that almost killed him. He was sent to a hospital and recovered. He flew a Hurricane Plane for the rest of the war and went home to his family. He was 25 when he got back to England.
