Jack (C. S. Lewis) adores his mother. He and Warnie, his older brother, loved to spend time with her. She was intelligent and encouraged them with their studies and dreams. Jack and Warnie had brilliant and imaginative minds. After Warnie went to school, Jack and his mother spent hours together happily learning French and Latin. Because his mother died when Jack was 8, he felt that he lost a treasure that he could not get back again. Now and then, he trudged up the stairs to the attic to draw and think about his mother.
