A Fun Business Trip with Daddy

Last December 2016, I flew with my dad on his 5-day business trip to Mindanao – Regions 9 Zamboanga; 11 Davao; and 12 General Santos, which is the Tuna capital of the Philippines. Because it is filled with corn fields, pomelo, banana, and mango plantations, Davao is referred as an agricultural city.

When we arrived at Gensan airport, our huge hotel van picked us up. On our way to the hotel, we saw the gigantic Mt. Matutum. After that, we rode tricycles to the hot customers’ stores and collected checks and orders. When we receive a check, we verify 5 things: the signature, amount in numbers, amount in words, name, and the date. Because the customers were so kind and generous, they gave me toys, chips, and chocolate almond, which I gave to mommy as “pasalubong” since I don’t eat chocolates.

After the morning work, we happily rode the tricycle to SM, ate lunch at Teriyaki Boy, and watched Moana movie twice. Daddy bought me an Angry Birds cup, which was filled with Sprite (16oz), and popcorn for the movie. We watched The Good Dinosaur last year and I didn’t like it very much. I only watched it once.

In Zamboanga, we walked to Uncle Roseller’s store from our fabulous hotel. I gladly helped in cashiering (sorting the bills and coins and giving the change to the customers) and climbed the mountain of plastic bags to help get stocks. There were vendors selling dried fish, which smelled yucky, outside the store. Unlike last year, there were no police apprehending them. I think they gave up and thought, “They are too many. Let’s stop catching them.”

Because of the delicious food, watching cinemas, collecting awesome gifts, and helping get stocks, I had fun learning with Daddy on his business trip.

The End
