Dan Of The Road

On July 7, 2374, there was a boy named Dan. He was 13 years old and lived in a condominium in Washington, D.C., U.S.A all by himself. One day, he went to NASA and asked if he could go in a space shuttle. To look inside. They agreed, and in ten minutes, Dan was inside a space shuttle looking around. He saw a big red button with the word LAUNCH on it. He pressed it, and the shuttle jumped out of the Mobile Launcher Platform (MLP).

The shuttle went to space and traveled through the whole galaxy and landed on a planet. When Dan realized that he could breathe, he instantly knew that the planet was Kepler-452b! It was a beautiful planet. It was like Earth, but there were no animals — just plants and trees.

The first thing Dan thought about was survival. He found some fruit and vegetable seeds inside the space shuttle and planted it on a bright pasture. Dan also made a road from the shuttle to the farm. Every day he traveled to the farm and back. He used the shuttle radio to signal for help. Luckily, NASA got his call for help. They sent a team of astronauts to find Dan.

Before long, Dan decided to explore the planet some more. He traveled through mountains, forests, plains, and rivers. Finally, he saw the space shuttle in the distance. Dan could not believe it! He walked all around the planet in a month!

After two months since he arrived in Kepler-452b, the astronaut team finally found Dan and brought him back to Earth. When Dan returned, he was welcomed back on Earth with a celebration. Dan published his story in WordPress.com and named it “Dan of the Road.”
