Even though the ocean liner named RMS Queen Mary was built during low times, she came out on top. In a shipyard in 1930, a luxurious ocean liner was being formed. The directors asked King George V that they will name the ship after the most wonderful queen of England. They meant Queen Victoria but the King thought they meant his wife, Queen Mary. So, the ship was mistakenly named RMS Queen Mary. Employment skyrocketed! The ship was made during an economic depression. What a nice coincidence!
The ocean liner was nicknamed the Grey Ghost because it was able to elude the sinking tankers that Hitler controlled. The last mission of Queen Mary was to bring the wives of the American soldiers that had married abroad from London to America.
Finally, in 1947 Queen Mary was restored and after 20 years of sailing, she retired.
The End
