IEW – Aslan’s Country – Lesson 10 – The Magic Wardrobe as a Fruit

Aslan told Digory of the fruit that will save his mother. Aslan transformed Strawberry into a flying horse and commanded him to bring Digory and Polly to the garden where the fruit is. The horse obeyed. When they arrived, Digory whispered to Polly and Strawberry, “Stay here. I will proceed by myself.” When he got to the garden, there was a note written on a gold gate on the door. It read:

Come in by the gold gates or not at all,

Take of my fruit for others or forbear,

For those who steal or climb my wall,

Shall find their heart’s desire and find despair.

So, Digory walked in by the gold gates and assumed that it was okay to get the fruit because he was giving it to his mom, not for himself. He found the tree and picked fruit. He ran back to Polly and Strawberry. Digory told Strawberry to fly back to Aslan.

When they got back, Digory gave the fruit to Aslan. Aslan then commanded the other animals to plant the fruit in the soil, and in no time, the fruit had already grown into a tree. Then he told Digory to take one to take back to his world. Digory happily took one and brought it back to his mother. She was healed, and Digory planted the core in his backyard. He thought what to do with the tree, and he made it into the wardrobe, the wardrobe that took the Pevensie siblings back to Narnia.
