Because Hitler, who was the leader of Germany, wanted to expand his territory, he started attacking the countries beside Germany. After Hitler defeated France in June 1940, his next target was England. Winston Churchill, the prime minister of England, knew what was coming and warned the British citizens. When “The Blitz” started in September 1940, the whole city of England was engulfed with fire. The firefighters of England bravely rushed through the town, putting out as many fires as they could. Winston Churchill and the other people would not surrender. Finally, in June 1941, they defeated Hitler’s army.
