IEW Lesson 19-The White Witch

The White Witch

The White Witch is from one of seven books in the Narnia series. The author of Narnia is C.S. Lewis. These are fantasy books for children. The White Witch is Manipulative, Fearsome, and Spiteful.

First of all, the White Witch is manipulative. When she didn’t know that Edmund, who was very cold, was human, she was furious and impatient. But when she knew, her voice became kinder and asked him to sit with her in her sleigh. Because she gave him a warm drink and a box of Turkish delight, Edmund was deceived and told her all about himself and his siblings. The White Witch also told him that if he can bring his siblings to her house, he could be the prince of Narnia or even king! He agreed willfully. She also told Edmund that he was the smartest and most handsome among his siblings.

Because the witch destroyed the Faun’s house, we now know that the witch is fearsome. The Faun was accused of high treason. When the Pevensie kids arrived in Narnia, they were met by a Beaver. The Beaver was whispering because some trees are the White Witch’s spies.

When Edmund secretly left the house, the Beaver said that Edmund had betrayed them. The Beaver said that when he saw Edmund, he was sure that Edmund would betray them. He also found out that Edmund had eaten the White Witch’s food.

The White Witch, who is spiteful, forced Edmund to eat solid bread with water. The White Witch furiously commanded the wolves to kill the Beavers. She got on her sledge to overtake the Beavers to the stone table.  On the way, she spotted some animals feasting, she turned them to stone because they insisted that Father Christmas had been there. Because Edmund doesn’t want the animals to be turned to stone, the White Witch gave Edmund a blow to the face to teach him what happens to traitors. And the last threat she declares is: “whoever says the name Aslan shall be killed!”

Manipulative, Fearsome, and Spiteful. Because it deliberately hurt, annoyed, and offended Edmund, the most horrible character of the three is her being spiteful.
