Lakbay Museo Field Trip (English)

We toured Lakbay Museo with the San Juan Learn Group on August 8, 2019. Lakbay Museo is a new interactive museum that will take you all over the Philippines in just two hours! The entrance fee per person is 599 pesos. Lakbay Museo is a fun place where you can discover beautiful local arts, food, and traditions, all in a fun museum. Lakbay Museo is the first Philippine museum to offer unique experiences from all regions of the country. You can choose how you enter the museum by classic jeep, a “plane,” or a vinta from Mindanao. Lakbay Museo is divided into five. Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, Aklan, and the gift shop. The museum features unique delicacies! Each one also earns play money that you can use to get local foods such as Ginataang Mais and Halo-halo. They gave us 12 chips each (poker kind) and explained that they are used to buy food inside the museum. There is so much to learn there! There is also a booth for buying chips. I used all my chips + 5 more chips I bought. I used three for entrance, six for two C2, four for Black Gulaman, and two for four bubble gum. There is also a tusok-tusok for four chips, but I didn’t buy any. Experience the arts and culture of many provinces! From swimming with “rice” on the Banaue Rice Terraces to playing essential instruments. Each tour is made better with dances and performances from museum facilitators! Plus, different types of vinegar you can taste for free. This new Instagrammable museum offers hundreds of opportunities for “travel” photos, such as this place under the “Mayon Volcano” with thousands of peppers. This museum is also an advocacy organization. Exhibits are made from recycled tires, car mats, and rubber slippers. They also provide job opportunities for PWDs, out-of-school youth, and locals from the museum-presented provinces. “Lakbay Museo aims to encourage Filipinos to cultivate our heritage and traditions.” And it is done in the most millennial and fun way possible! I enjoyed it there because I was with my friends. It’s a bit like Kidzoona.
